We build truck driving safety foundation with S.M.A.R.T. Defensive Driving on a simulator and reinforce it with road training.
Returning drivers often need a refresher. Our CDL Refresher Course improves safety, reduces collisions, and lowers insurance risk through hands-on training, and simulation.
Our Class A CDL Training includes Entry Level Driver Training, permit preparation, and S.M.A.R.T. defensive driving theory. Students receive hands-on instruction in pre-trip inspections (cab and full vehicle), backing, and road driving using the same equipment they’ll test in.
Training covers manual 10-speed operation, including shifting, clutch control, turns, lane changes, and highway driving. Small class sizes (5:1 ratio) ensure personalized instruction from experienced drivers. Our L3 Harris TRANSIM™ simulator allows training in advanced scenarios like bad weather, emergency maneuvers, and rollover prevention. Students with permits can begin training upon enrollment.
Drivers or Driver Trainees wishing to obtain a hazmat endorsement for the first time must complete specific theory instruction prior to taking the required knowledge test. This training must be provided by a school or entity listed on the FMCSA’s Training Provider Registry (TPR). Superior TDA’s Hazmat Entry level driver Training is instructor taught in our state-of-the-art classroom.
Driving a 40 ton vehicle safely is important, not just for the truck driver but for everyone sharing the road together. We believe safe driving is the most important foundation to build a long career. We utilize the S.M.A.R.T. Defensive Driving course on our state-of-the-art driving simulator to lay that foundation and then build on it with experienced instructors during on-the-road training. We stress the full picture observation of the area around the vehicle to ensure trainees are never caught unaware.

This program provides customized, hands-on training behind the wheel of a semi tractor-trailer, along with instruction in key areas like log books, trip planning, inspections, and maneuvering. Drivers are evaluated by licensed instructors to identify areas for improvement. Training also includes simulation using the S.M.A.R.T. method (Scan, Measure risk, Anticipate, Reach a decision, Trust) to strengthen safe driving habits.
