If you have your Class A CDL, but have not been driving a tractor trailer, some companies will ask you to complete a refresher course before they will put you on the road.
Our Refresher course was developed for Commercial Driver License holders and is designed to reduce collisions, improve safety on the road, and minimize insurance costs.
This convenient program offers customized CDL training to bring current and former truck drivers “up to speed” on various aspects of the profession. This includes hands-on drive time behind the wheel of a semi tractor-trailer. CDL Refresher courses can be customized to meet the specific needs of each student.
Our refresher course includes: CSA Overview, Hours of Service, Log Books,Trip Planning, Coupling/Uncoupling, and Roadside Inspections. Hands on instruction on how to Perform a Proper Class A CDL Pre- Trip Inspection along with advanced backing, close quarter maneuvering, and parking exercises. You will drive with a licensed Instructor who will assess and determine any areas for improvement.
You will also receive simulation based training using the “S.M.A.R.T.” decision driving method, which stands for Scan, Measure risk, Anticipate action, Reach a decision, and Trust your decision. The S.M.A.R.T. method, combined with fundamental speed and space management skills will help you stay safe on the road!
